His highness Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed gifted a new Cardiac Centre to the people of this region which is running under the umbrella of Ministry of Health with annual operational budget of 1.5 million SR/bed. This Cardiac centre will provide a comprehensive cardiology services in one place and includes a desperately needed Cardiac Catheterization laboratory and a Cardiac Surgical Operating facility. By having this Centre based at Arar city, people from across Northern Border region (spreaded over more than 600 kms) even Hail and Joaf regions will get the treatment they need quicker and closer to home, ensuring the best possible experience for each and every patient.
Currently patients have to make lengthy journeys to other hospitals in central kingdom for part of their care which is both stressful and time consuming.
Northern Boarder Region already has a high level of coronary heart disease and local demand for coronary investigation and treatment is expected to rise by 10% over the next five years. The new Cardiac Centre will be able to cater for this increasing need.
